Golden Eagle Coppersmiths was started in August of 1963 in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire by Bud & Grace Tinkham. They started making hand-made copper weather vanes and copper lighting fixtures. Bud acquired some cedar post and made the first post light (our 1024 Post Light) and sold two of them for $25.00 The Tinkhams sold lights throughout the New England region. In the mid 1970’s the Tinkham children, David, & Cheryl Call, came on to run the family business. In 1979, Bud Tinkham also bought Post-A-Lite of Massachusetts.
Golden Eagle’s lights can be seen all over the country since they first began in 1962. In 1988, Walt Disney sent drawings to them to make their custom post lights in both Florida and California! In 2003 in Columbus Ohio, Golden Eagle produced 50 London St. Lights for their city municipal buildings and those same lights can still be seen there today. Golden Eagle has made lighting fixtures for fine hotels from New Hampshire to California. In 2005, their lights were featured in Better Homes and Garden magazine.
In May of 2011, David and Cheryl chose to retire and Lucky Street Lanterns was established. We are carrying forth the fine tradition of handmade quality products and bringing contemporary designs and styles for a lifetime of beautiful lighting for your homes.
